On the morning of Sunday, November 15 1959, Nancy Ewalt and Susan Kidwell arrived at the Clutter 's house to carpool to church. After ringing the bell several times and receiving no response, they decided to enter the house. Upon entering, they found all the telephone connections severed and Nancy Clutter 's purse laid ransacked on the floor. Dumbfounded, they ran upstairs for any signs of the Clutters. There, they found Nancy Clutter 's body, she had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Evangelist Linda M. Dawkins was born in the mid-20th century, the second of six children to the late Charles and Elder Odessa Talley in Philadelphia, Pa. Sister Linda grew up in an incredibly religious environment, since her mother who was an extremely religious woman. Mrs. Talley would take Linda and her siblings and walk up and down Ridge Avenue to and from The Parham Church in North Philadelphia several times a week. Later Mrs. Talley would become a member and minister at “The Reformed Church of the Living God”. Mary Mason Lyon, pioneer in women’s education, died on March 5, 1849, from a severe illness. While watching over a student in her care suffering from the disease, Mary Lyon contracted Erysipelas: an infectious skin disease. Only 52 years old, Mary Lyon died in her apartment after living a full and successful life. Born February 28, 1979, to Aaron and Jemima Lyon in Buckland, Massachusetts, Mary was the sixth of eight children.
Although many Americans have lost their hope in how society treats the ones that do not have enough to cover their basic needs, there is still people that care about the ones that do not have the same resources to keep a proper life like us. As my Canadian writer, I picked Margaret Atwood to create a Prezi on her history of poetry and her writings. For the reason of she was the first name on the list I recognized. Secondly, when I searched her name, she seems to be interesting to research on, and I am pleased I selected Margaret as my poet. Not to mention I learned an abundance of new information about her and that Margaret Atwood has some incredible poems and short stories. As well as, Margaret has evolved, so hugely from being a student with dreams to momentarily has fulfilled her dreams of pursuing writing.
Betty Parris aged 9 was the first to be afflicted by witchcraft in Salem in 1692. Betty Parris became very ill during the cold winter of 1692, she dove under furniture, complained of fever and she contorted in pain however, the cause of her behavior was medically unclear so doctor William Griggs claimed she was bewitched. Several other girls developed similar symptoms including her eleven-year-old cousin Abigail Williams, Ann Putnam, Mercy Lewis and Mary Walcott. The girls were urged by Rev. Parris (Betty’s father) and others to name the witches. They accused the homeless beggar Sarah Good, elderly Sarah Osburn and Indian slave Tituba who were arrested and taken to magistrates Johnathan Corwin and John Hathorne.
When people think of others who are poor and less fortunate, they assume that it is people who are living on the street, don’t have a family, and are classified within the homeless population. What they don’t recognize is that is not completely wrong or correct because it is known that not all homeless people live on the streets or don’t have family to support them financially and more. The first time I recognized this was when I volunteered at the Our Daily Bread Employment Center in Baltimore. After observing and interacting with some of the families and individuals who attend the hot meal program year round, I not only recognized that most of the people came from stable homes and have jobs but also that 1 out of 10 people were homeless by

Homelessness has increase dramatically in our city, and with poverty rates increasing it is no surprise.
With the increased use of housing-based assistance programs being created, there is a positive outlook for homeless looking for assistance getting back on their feet by acquiring affordable housing. The ability to apply and gain benefits through state and federal programs is helping to provide food and some financial assistance to the homeless population as well as a community outreach programs being deployed in cities all over the country. New opportunities for employment and training are available for those who are homeless and looking to get back into the workforce and get off the street. The road ahead for the homeless population is, of course, paved with struggles and detours, but with the continued efforts of our country, states and communities we can work together to aid in the reduction of homelessness with the continued efforts in creating and maintaining affordable housing programs, assistance programs, and workforce development
