Lindy looked at herself in the bathroom mirror. Her dark brown hair began to thin and fall out, her bones started to show beneath her paling flesh. The girl had begun to bear a striking resemble to a walking skeleton. However, Lindy was not aware of the dramatic weight loss she forced upon herself. In fact, from the moment she stepped on the scale to assess her progress, Lindy expected there to be an even lower number than the digit she saw four weeks ago. Especially since she had not been eating more than five hundred calories a day. Despite her best efforts to lose more weight, she was not successful. From her seat, Lindy continued to stare out the window next to her. She noted several browning leaves of the sycamore gently glide across the soft winds that carried them away. Lindy, slumped over in her seat, and nestled her chin in her soft palm. She wished it could be her being carried away by the wind, she pined at the thought of being able fly out of her seat and join the birds in the sky. Sadly, she knew the probability of her being able to fly across the grey sky was zero. Lindy remained seated at her desk, scribbling her fake notes into her notebook, and staring at the white board while her teacher discussed how one should approach the problem that was on the board. On her way to the office, Lindy passed by several lively classrooms, hearing the chattering of the students, or the booming voice of the teacher as they gave a profound lecture in regards to the subject they taught. It didn’t take long for Lindy to arrive at the long rectangular building where the counselors resided. Once she arrived in front of the large grey building, Lindy quickly pushed open one of the translucent glass doors and strode right in. Conveniently, her counselor, Ms. Espinoza had her office located right next to the entrance of the building, so it didn’t take Lindy long to arrive at her office. Ms. Espinoza left her door was wide open, as if she was welcoming Lindy to come in. Lindy quickly peeked into the room, spotting Ms. Espinoza at her desk, typing on her computer. Lindy stood there for a moment, dumfounded, deciding whether or not she should wait for her to finish or immediately grasp Ms. Espinoza’s attention.
