In this story the racism during the antebellum affects the marital relationship between Desiree and Armand. He and his wife took the child in and years later, under the same shadow of the stone pillar, Desiree met her husband, Armand Aubigny. Not long after marriage, they had a child. Soon after the baby was born, Armand uncharacteristically became nice to all around him including his slaves.

I chose these two particular essays because they are my best work of the semester and I enjoyed the prompts that came along with the essays. My Argument Analysis Essay was the less favored of the two because finding viable and honest research on biosurveillance was anger-inducing and gave me a migraine when I discovered just how intrusive this technology is. This particular essay makes me proud because I was able to control my own bias towards the particular topic and focus completely on the argument that was presented. While reading this essay I noticed multiple mistakes that make me feel silly because I fail to give in-depth reasoning. As a reader of my own work, I can connect unwritten thoughts and come to a quick conclusion of an analysis.
Writing had always been one of my strengths, but it was challenging to take that initial step past the sixth form style of writing essays. Moving past this phase has greatly opened my mind.
