When it comes to the discussion of does living in a certain area really affect an individual? The in class film and text read in class very much shows the reality of health effects that are given to communities that fit the poverty line; that can’t afford to live in the richest communities. These two pieces of information help show the reality that these two communities and what they have to endure. The factors that are contributing house value is the location. Now it’s common to think that you’d rather have a 5 bedroom home in the suburbs rather than a 2 bedroom house that hears gunshots daily. Many of the characters have had problems trying to have a house of their own. The author goes into depth that they may work a minimum wage job, but that’s barely going to put a dent in paying off a mortgage. It shows how many people struggled to try to have the American Dream. It’s quite terrible that a husband and wife can work long hours, but can barely afford to take care of themselves and to pay for their house. Now, the film and class are alike in many ways.
