She had to fight alone and became a disgrace to the town she loved. We need to get justice for Lizzie Borden whom she never got to experience. Also, this is one of the most fascinating stories, as it is still up in the air who completed the murder. The event is almost like a real-life move. As the storylines are very crazy and the killer is unreviled.
Lizzie Borden is guilty of murdering Andrew Borden and Abby Borden on August 4, 1892, in Fall River, Massachusetts. I can prove this because in the article “Could the Journals of Lizzie Borden’s Lawyer Reveal the Truth.” by Daily Mail Reporter it says that “Andrew had also upset Lizzie for chopping off the heads of pigeons she fed and watered. Lizzie had also fallen out with her stepmother and called her 'Mrs.Borden’”(Daily Mail Reporter). This shows that Lizzie was very upset at both her father and Abby which means she would have a perfect motive for wanting them gone.
Have you ever had a dream about your parents dying that felt realistic? Well, in the case of Lizzie Borden, her parents actually died, and she was blamed for it. On August 4th, 1982 Andrew and Abby Borden were brutally with a hatchet. The murderer showed no mercy to the couple, for when the Bordens were killed they were left almost unrecognizable. Andrew’s daughter Lizzie Borden was automatically accused of being the killer.
The first reason I believe Lizzie is guilty of the murders of Andrew and Abby Borden is because she lied about her stepmom Abby Borden receiving a note from a friend being sick on the day she and her husband were murdered. “The Crime” stated, “Andrew asked Lizzie where Abby was, and Lizzie told him Abby had received a note that someone was ill and that she had left the house.”
I believe that Lizzie Borden did kill Both Abby and Andrew Borden on the day of August 4, 1892. Some people think that Lizzie is guilty some think she is innocent. My reasons for believing this are she wanted more attention from her father. My second reason is when she testified about what happened and her whereabouts it didn't add up. My third and final reason to believe that Lizzie is guilty is she had reasons to think that her father was going to get hurt shortly before her father got killed.
After the murder took place a local store said that she came in and tried to buy poison but they would not sell it to them (Miller, S, 2016). That was a few days before that murder (Miller, S, 2016). Then they ended up falling ill the day before the killings took place (King, F. 1992). On the morning of the murders Lizzie did not eat breakfast with her family and was acting weird.
Lizzie Borden tried to poison her parents, and when that didn’t work, she had to think of another plan. Her parents were found with 30 hits to the head with a hatchet. There is no doubt that Lizzie Borden is the one who murdered her parents in cold blood. Lizzie Borden is guilty, and she needs help. Lizzie is the only one that had the opportunity to commit the crime, besides the maid.
Also from CBS News, they provide pictures of the skulls of Andrew and Abby Borden. The pictures of the skulls show large pieces of both skulls missing from the skulls, CBS News reports. This evidence shows that someone had very, very harsh thoughts and a person like Lizzie is not that person. To continue, the Borden family’s maid, Bridget Sullivan, has the capability to actually commit a murder like this. In Article #5 it says, “Bridget said that she had worked for the Bordens for two years and ten months doing general housework.”
Instead of being scared and afraid of what might happen too her, she wasn’t worried at all and somewhat excited about been listed as a suspect. Her sister was more frightened about what might happen then she was and the maid was very surprised about the death. Lizzie was very confident with her story as if she was planning everything out for a while, this explains why going to the police station for questions wasn’t a bad thing too her. One reason Lizzie is guilty, she stated the night before that
The women, including Lizzie, participated in all the community activities. Lizzie and her sister, Emma, still live with their father and mother. A maid was also present at the home. It is widely believed that the wife of Mr. Borden, Abby Borden, was not the mother of his daughters and that she was a stepmother to the sisters. The Borden household was not peaceful, Lizzie and Emma hated their father's wife.
Other family members could be guilty of the crime, not just Lizzie. The first possible suspect that comes to mind is John Morse, Lizzie’s uncle who, after supposedly being made aware of the horrible murders, is said to have “ambled” into the back yard and proceeded to “eat pears in the shade” (King 27). The next possible suspect would have to be Emma, who, being out of town that day was sent a telegram telling her about the murders, but she “did not catch the next train,” or the next, in fact she did not “return” home “until after seven that night” (King 27). Doesn't that seem a little odd, seeing as her father was just killed; unless she had something to do with it and couldn’t get home until then, but we will never know. Another possible suspect is Bridget Sullivan, the maid who happened to be in and around the house at the time of the murders (“The Lizzie Borden Story”).
All the tension in the house can’t make for an easy job for a housekeeper, so it is safe to say that Bridget was mistreated and fed up with the Bordens. On August 3rd, the day before the murders, Lizzie’s uncle John Morse came to discuss business matters with Andrew. Whatever the matter, it created tension between Lizzie and her family. According to Cheryl Eddy’s article, “With the despised Andrew and Abby out of the way, Lizzie and Emma stood to inherit an estate.” Lizzie had a motive to kill in order to gain her father’s money.
Gentlemen of the jury, the people of Fall River have been entranced with the case from the moment they found out Andrew and Abby Borden were brutally killed. As soon as people heard about the killings of Mr. and Mrs. Borden, they immediately began speculating as to who could have committed these heinous acts. Throughout the trial, all of the facts presented have pointed back to Lizzie. It has always been a known fact that Lizzie has resented Abby her entire life, her alibi isn’t in agreement with other evidence, and how void she is of emotion is truly telling on her character. Lizzie’s birth mother died when she was 2 from complications during childbirth and once she was the age of 5, her father remarried to Abby Durfee (Gray) Borden.
There were lots of loose ends and unsolved questions. I am here to convince you that Lizzie did not do it and, that she is innocent. Firstly, imagine being accused of killing your parents. How would that make you feel?
Lizzie Borden had reasons to kill her dad and stepmother for example it was crazy how she just killed her father and stepmother like that. Because it is her parents and she shouldn’t kill her parents that shows she has no respect for them. Lizzie killed Andrew on the sofa with about 11 bows. In concluding Andrew was on the couch and Lizzie was convincing Andrew to relax on the sofa. That’s how Andrew died.
