Logarithms as we know today is known to be one of the most difficult math concepts to approach, however it did not stop the inventors that used logarithms to create and change the lives of today's world forever. An important time period that used these Logarithms were in the cold war, a time period in which people were scared and two superpower nations went head to head to be the most powerful country. Logarithms is what created a sense of tension and insecurity between two countries as they battled it out not only in war, but in who could be the smartest of them all.

So what are Logarithms exactly? A logarithm is a quantity representing the power to which the base must be raised to produce a given number. Even before the Cold War, logarithms were used during the 16th century!!! Logarithms were useful due to its power to multiply and divide in comparison to addition and subtraction. Logarithms were used to measure the pH level of acidity without the use of technology and is also used in a Richtor scale to measure the level of earthquake intensity. …show more content…

Feynman, who was a young scientists had the opinion, in which many agreed upon, that America should build a powerful weapon just in case Germany did. The most ironic thing is, these molecular logarithmic nuclear bombs were not used on Germany, because Germany lost in world war two.
