Introduction
Conducting educational standards is very imperative when dispensing an effective learning environment for students. Educational standards are normally defined as principles and skills students should retain throughout their educational career as students. These values that students obtain are served as a basis of educational reform across the state, common core values, and nation as educators and stakeholders rejoin the call for a clear definition of desired outcomes of schooling. Educational standards also exemplifies a way to measure student success in terms of these outcomes" (National Research Council 2001). This standard documentation gave an in-depth analysis of all the areas of the English section; reading literacy, reading information, reading foundational, writing, speaking & listening, and language. This documentation reveals what students are expected to learn, how they will learn it, and the direction they are heading in as they continue to reach their goals. This portion of the document examines every aspect of the English/Language Arts components, with given pointers as how to ensure that they are all followed correctly. Looking at this documentation shows that all 2nd grade students of the Language Arts will know how to do such given goals prior to moving on to 3rd grade English/ Language Arts, The only weakness that was fond in this section was the expectations from the teacher. When conducting and analyzing strategies, it is very imperative to ensure that the expectation of the instructor is given. By presenting their expectations will notify the reader on what to look for when observing students to ensure that all goals are being met prior to graduating from the current grade level. Overall the 2nd grade English portion of the State standards are easy to read and follow because of its formality. Georgia State Standards are easily numbered goals with objectives arranged by course title reading literacy, Reading information, reading foundational, writing, speaking & listening, and language. The given Information on the state standards is assessed on the EOC or assessed in the classroom. The Georgia State Standards provide links to the EOC exams that have specific skill statements and content limits. This is very effective as teachers utilize the links to prepare students for state wide exams.
