The Lord of the flies. Chapter 1. A boy named Ralph is playing on the beach when he discovers there is another boy who introduces himself as Piggy. He is chubby wears thick glasses and is very intellectual. In their conversation you figure out there is an transport plane carrying a group of English boys was shot down over the ocean. The plane crashed on a unknown island and they cannot find the pilot. Piggy and Ralph are searching the beach for the other boys. The stranded boys discover Piggy and make fun of him. The boys decide to choose a leader. Ralph wins the vote over Jack and it becomes clear Jack want to be the leader of the boys squad. Ralph, Jack and a mate of Jack leave the meeting and set off across the abandoned island. At the end of the island there is a hill which the boys decide to climb. On their way back the see a pig. Ralph tells them they need to organize a few things to look after themselves. For example, they need hunters to get them food. When they are talking about getting found on the island panic starts to take over. The younger boys are really frightened and some of them are crying. Ralph comes with an idea to set off a signal of burning wood so every ship that is crossing the island would see there are people on it.
