In Lost In Yonkers by Neil Simon , Jay and Arthur are forced to live with their strict Grandmother and their Aunt Bella. This is set in the time of World War 2 where there weren’t as many jobs available. Jay and Arty are forced to live with their Grandma because their father made a deal with someone and needs to repay them nine thousand dollars. There was a very powerful feeling of love. There were different kinds of love throughout the play . The author Neil Simon used his personal experience to help the play seem more real. One of the kinds of love least talked about is Eddie Jay and Arthur’s dad and his wife who died of cancer. In the play Eddie talked to his sons about how he got into debt. He mentions that he wanted to make his wife comfortable on her last days and that is the kind of love that can never be tarnished or broken. It is the kind of feeling that you would do anything for that person. The next kind of love is the natural kind of love that you don’t have to talk about to know that it’s there. This is evident with Jay and Arthur. Although it was never really brought up, you can feel this natural sort of love between them.
