As a child, his mother and father were always arguing with people and his mother never gave him the attention he needed (This was NOT the reason why he killed people). One horrible thing he experienced in his life is that he got sexually abused by his neighbor when he was 8 years old (Again, this was not the reason he killed people). PART 2: Jeffery Dahmer killed people by mutilating and strangling his victims. After he killed them, he ate them. He even fed his neighbor Pamela Bass a sandwich that maybe had a body part in it. The time span of his murders were 1978 and 1991, which means he started killing at 18. He killed 17 young men who were gay African Americans. He was known as the Milwaukee Cannibal and his IQ was 144. The bodies of his victims were taken in parts and were stuffed in his fridge so there was no signature. He died on December 5, 2023, at age 87 and still tried to love his son after the serial killer's death. Even after Jeffery Dahmer was caught, he said that his son “was not born a monster”. He died in Medina County, Ohio. He did not shy away from speaking about his son’s horrible acts, but he still had compassion for him and he also reflects that he felt to some degree that the murders were his fault. He also wrote a book about his feelings and experiences with his son called “a father’s story”. Years later, he talked to Larry King (TV show host) and gave some parenting advice. Years later, in 2022, Lionel revealed that Jeffery had started to develop sexual fetishes at 12 to 14 years old. Back in 1974, Lionel and his wife, Joyce, went through a divorce. They then started to fight over custody over Jeffery, which caused him to have a drinking problem and go live by himself with no food and money at 18 but he had a broken refrigerator. Around this time, Jeffery slaughtered his first victim. Lionel felt that he was oblivious and was in denial about what his son had done. While Jeffery was in prison, Lionel had a second wife named Shari. After Jeffrey's death, his body was placed in state custody pending charges against his killer, Christopher Scarver.
