For someone to be a hero they have to voluntarily conduct a service to one or more people. This service must involve risk to physical comfort, social stature, or quality of life, and they can’t expect any reward for doing this. The point of this essay is to determine if Louie Zamperini is a hero. In the beginning of his story he wasn’t a hero, He was “angry and rebellious. He had a taste for alcohol and a penchant for fighting”.
