The Generation of Today

Today’s generation was described by Louis C.K. as “Spoiled idiots.” On The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, Louis C.K. gave his opinion on the generation that grew up with internet, phones, and more modern luxuries. He complains about how we are too impatient when technology doesn’t live up to its standards and I agree with him. Today’s generation are very spoiled and take technology and other conveniences for granted. Almost everyone has access to internet today. Even schools, like Oskaloosa Sr. High School, have lended students computers and free wifi. Internet today has a standard. High speed internet is very common and when it’s slow it can get frustrating because it’s not meeting the standards. However, back in the day the internet was much slower than it is today. Hardware and software were in its infancy back then and computers were much slower. Louis C.K. thinks that the internet is amazing whether it's fast or slow. He stated, “It’s going to space! Can you give it time to get back from space?!” There is a lot that goes into looking something up on Google and this generation doesn’t recognize that all too well. …show more content…

You can get from New York to California in 5-6 hours depending on which airlines you choose. If a delay comes up and it takes another hour to board the plane, get impatient and angry. It’s just like the internet issue, there is a standard and if it is not met then it may seem awful. On the other hand, not long ago there was no such thing as a airplane or automobiles. A wagon was needed to get from the east coast to the west coast of America and it could take a year to get to the destination. It’s understandable how it can get frustrating when things don’t go as planned but not long ago it took a long time to travel between places and need to realize that they are very lucky to be able to experience
