Ever wonder of having your own kingdom? Think of having all the luxuries of the world, like a big palace, a feast for every meal, a large canopy bed with servants on the edge for your needs. Not only that, but you are the absolute ruler of anyone in our kingdom with no one to stand against you. That is the life you may wish for, but that’s the life of an absolute monarch. An exemplary absolute monarch is Louis XIV because he had a strong defending military, had complete power over the bank for his luxury, and suppressed anyone who went against him.

Louis XIV’s strong defending military helped him to expand its borders and protect the nation. His highlighted luxury shows that he has complete power of all the money in France. The action of suppressing power from the Church and the nobles made him even more of an absolute monarch. Moving on, forms of absolute monarchy is the main government systems for some countries today. For example a small country named Brunei near Malaysia still follows a royal absolute monarch system. The monarch of that country now is Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, who compares to Louis XIV in some ways. For example, according to commonwealth.org, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah has full complete executive power over Brunei, like France’s executive power is all under Louis XIV. Besides, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah luxury extends all the way to owning about 600 Rolls Royce and net worth about $20 billion.
