John Rayburn, you are running for the next Congressman of Louisiana. That comes with unbelievable responsibilities and sacrifices, but there is no feeling greater than representing the state you know and love. We have a long campaign ahead of us, which means we should begin discussing our strategy. To preface that, I would like to share some knowledge I have learned through past campaigns. In order to have a solid and successful campaign, we must know all of the fundamentals surrounding us. Everything is a strategy, including how you address the public, if you communicate well through the radio, how many commercials we put on TV and most importantly, you must know how to handle the media and how they can portray you in a completely strewed light, which you must respond to and handle with eloquence. I want to shine a light on your squeaky clean past because most politicians can not do so. It is important to let our voters know what a philanthropist you are and that you are in this for the good of the people of Louisiana. We know that media coverage does effect voters by looking at the Trump election. An online article discussing Trump, his relation to the news media, and how it helped him in the election states, “People do not change their opinions without new information. People do not suddenly decide, for no reason, to support a candidate they hadn’t previously supported. For Trump, a lot of the relevant information came from the news media. It is why Republicans came to see him more favorably in the initial months.” If you can get as much as good news coverage towards the beginning, the public will believe you are a good guy, whether or not they vote for you, is for you to persuade.
