Some of the reasons luluemon athletica inc. did not surrender to the high statistically failure rate of other businesses within their first five years of operation was because of taking right judgement when conducting business. They were able to follow the eight reasons to why many new ventures fail in the first place. Prominently they were able to have strong financial control, good sense of expertise and proper strategic intent. “If you want to be successful in this industry it’s about being authentic” says former CEO Christine Day. Lulu lemon came into the market in the late 2000’s but with a vision much different then any other new ventures. They created a successful company by being diverse to competing companies. The high success was because of the vision, founder Dennis Chip Wilson had at the time and that was to put customer satisfaction before revenue. From the start, lulu lemon was successful because of their involvement with several shareholders. In 2005 lulu lemon partnered with the private equity firms Advent International and Advent Capital. The commitment with Advent International and Advent Capital helped fund the companies’ growth strategy in the US and International markets. They train their employees to eavesdrop, placing folding tables on the floors of store near rather then in the back group so employees can over hear customer complaints being said by shoppers.
