The iconic champion was born on 11/23/1952 in San Francisco bay areas and later graduation from the University of California in Los Angeles. Her willing-to-do, competitive, and challenge-accepting attitude greatly played a significant rule in her victories. When she first started running, her biggest ambition was to win the Olympics medal and then quit so that she could get married and have family and kids, but she didn’t think that she would get caught in running career for more than 30 years. Freedom Summer, or the Mississippi Summer Project, was a volunteer campaign launched in June 1964 to attempt to register as many African-American voters as possible in Mississippi, which had historically excluded most blacks from voting. The project also set up dozens of Freedom Schools throughout Mississippi to aid the local black population. The projects leadership and funding came from the SNCC and COFO, along with hundreds of white college students in the north. In 1963, the SNCC organized a mock vote for blacks, which gave them a chance to prove they were capable of understanding politics. The civil rights activists from both organizations and the white volunteers from the north faced many challenges during the campaign.

The freedom summer, also known as the Mississippi Summer project, was the nonviolent attempt for a voter registration drive organized by a series of civil rights organizations, those including Congress on Racial Equality (CORE), the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). This historical event took place in Mississippi in the summer of 1964. The main focus of this project was, as mention earlier, the voter registration drive, which intended to gather as many colored Mississippians to join the electoral register. From her personal experiences with severe gluten intolerance, food allergies, and food intolerances, she wanted to turn her challenges into a way to help others with similar conditions. Her nonprofit experiences started at age 13 when she volunteered with the American Red Cross in Brevard County, Florida as a receptionist. She expanded her skills to a service to military family caseworker along with acquiring disaster training and teaching others in CPR/First Aid and babysitting – all before graduating high school.

That is why I believe having a healthier lunch would cause more harm than good. Here are the reasons why: people would stop eating, food would be wasted, and the school would loose money.
School Lunch Changing to a healthy and new lunch menu would be very beneficial. Eating healthy not always the easy choose. Even though the old food chooses are the favorites, the new chooses are just better for you. When you eat food that is better for you, you feel better too. When you are given the choose of eating health vs eating whatever is quickest.

The history of red ribbon week Red Ribbon Week started after the brutal murder of a drug enforcement officer. It is to prevent people from using drugs. The DEA started the organization in 1985. DEA stands for drug enforcement administration.
Attending convocation the week of homecoming is an event I am glad I attended. My thoughts on convocation consist of me being very moved. The guest speaker Angela Robinson is someone I look up to, and watch on television. Hearing such inspirational words from someone I look up to, made me very motivated.
