Imagine that your mom asks if her cooking is good you would feel terrible if you told her the truth and the answer was no . I firmly believe that lying is justified when it can be used to protect and care for others .
Lying is acceptable if it creates more positive results than negative ones .For example Cohen says your fictional spouse is about to accept a nobel prize and asks if they look fat . If you 're on the way to the award ceremony you say they look great(3) . This connects to my argument because you create positive results instead of telling the truth and creating negative results . In addition to put it in another way Depolo says that people have an idea that lying is bad this shows that lying can be good also it shows that lying will have a result of positive attitude .(3)

Some people may believe that once you have lied you are untruthful to another person . For example, Immanuel Kant says a lie even if does not wrong to any particular individual always harms mankind individually .(4) This argument is wrong because you are not hurting mankind you are protecting someone from harm . Another common counterpoint is that people believe when you are lying you are unnecessarily complicating your life . For example Brad Blanton an author says lying is stressful and hurts relationships .(5) This is an understandable concern, however it does not because if you are lying in a relationship it is probably because you don’t want your date to get upset and you both will have a bad night .
