Architect:

Job description

Architects job involves designing any building, skyscrapers, low rise buildings, hospitals, schools etc.
They can work on designing new buildings or make changes to already existing ones.

As the architect gets the job from beginning, they should understand what the client requires and on that basis prepare proposals in the form of sketches by hand and also computer aided, to produce 3D visualisation for the client to appreciate how the project would look like and get their approval. Also they should advise the client about how feasible their demand is considering things like budget, environmental considerations, sustainability, etc.

Qualifications:

Degrees in architecture, interior design, fine art, or other similar degrees can be a good starting position to pursue a career in interior design.

Landscape Architects:

Job description

Have meetings with clients to know about their needs.
To investigate the site to find out about the existing environmental issues like animal and plant life, and also natural resources.
Find out about what the local residents, business who are going to use the site have to say.
Presenting ideas which have been produced by CAD and other means to the client to choose from
Assess the environmental impacts and write reports about them.
Work closely with other professionals like architects, engineers, surveyors, etc.
Be able to work out side normal working hours if required to meet deadlines

Personal specification

Skills:

To have a good design and drawing skills and also use computer-aided design (CAD). To have a good negotiation and communication skills Good understanding of conservation and environmental issues

• Good eye for detail and observational skills.

Qualifications:

A degree that is accredited by the Landscape Institute
