In the start of the play in scene 3 act 1, I noticed a conflict of Individual Vs. Self. Macbeth, the king is in a serious conflict with his own conscience regarding the murder of Duncan. Although his position is in danger, his conscience is really bothering him but he knows in order to retain his crown he must kill Duncan. This is evident when he says, “if chance will have me king, why chance may crown me/ without my stir?” the thoughts of murders are running through his head and he is indecisive about it.
