After finishing final exams, Hadiya was hanging out with her friends in a park when she, was shot to death in the 4400 block of South Oakland Avenue in Chicago. There are many other homicides like Hadiya, who have become the victims of gun violence. These innocent deaths in Chicago fuel the debate about gun laws and their use. Gun laws in Chicago are strict than any other city in the U.S but still are not able to stop fatal shots. Chicago, is still found in the flood of gun violence. It is really a controversial topic in the city. Some people use guns for self-protection. They think that use of guns is the best solution against gun violence itself. Due to the segregation in the city, corruption in politics, the economy in South suburbs is highly effected. Due to the population shift, the income of black people has withered whereas for whites the income has grown. Due to decreased income and loss of jobs in that area, hopes fades in people living there. People get involved in street violence and get involved in killing other people to take revenge. It is going to be worse and the city will end up in more of gun violence if there will be no more job opportunities over there. Strict gun laws are not working to reduce crime because of the poor education system. Most of the gun violence in Chicago happens where population is higher in rate and the education among the people is very poor. There are many reasons to the fact that children in dense populated areas are not able to get good education. For example, schools are not advanced. There are alot of students in one class and a teacher cannot focus on every student. Joseph T. says, “Teacher’s morale is poor when class sizes are too large, and their time is spent disciplining rather than teaching”. Additionally, where there are many students in one class, a teacher’s attention just diverts to maintaining class discipline instead of coaching the students. Moreover, if a child is not getting good education, he might engage himself in other activities. As in an interview, Andre Hamlin describes a guy from a gang that when, there was nothing to do from school, there was no sports activity, he and his friends use to think what should they do and then end up by thinking, let’s break-into some house. This shows that an idle mind of a child can think of many dangerous activities, which he might think can be interesting to him. For example, he might think of breaking in someone’s house or involve in gang- related activities. These children even are able to bring weapons
