Then when I read the information I was not wrong at all. This connection it’s due to the twenty two years my husband has served the USA Army. I can see and feel her pain and frustration. I remember when my husband was at war, not knowing if I will see him again, if he was coming back the same way he left. This painting reflects my friend Ana’s life.

Through the progression of her macular degeneration, she began to create hand-crafted pots, which demonstrates an ability of bodily and kinesthetic intelligence through the use of control of her motions to manipulate the clay into shape of her paintings. I personally view her paintings with a sense of interpersonal intelligence
Symbolism is the use of images, colors or items through a story or time used to represent something more meaningful. For example, one may look at America's flag and think it is just a flag. False, it is red for the valor and bravery of our soldiers, the white stands for purity and innocence of our nation, and the blue signifies justice, perseverance and vigilance; it is not just a flag, it is a symbol of all the things the United States of America have been through. However, in literature symbolism plays a much more heavy role in the story. Authors used symbolism with a flower, perhaps, then continue talking about growth and blossoming within the flower throughout the story only to reveal to the reader the flower is not a flower, but a growth in her struggling protagonist.
“The Broken Column” is a breathtaking piece of art that expresses truly how much pain and suffering the creator was go through when the piece was created. This art piece is a self-portrait of Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter from Mexico City (1907–1954) in the surrealism period. She is best known for her wrenching, and mysterious self-portraits she painted. At a young age Frida was involved in a terrible bus action which caused her chronic pain and health issues for the rest of her life. It was after a spinal surgery that she created this painting.
This essay examines one of the many self-portrait paintings by Frida Kahlo called ‘broken column’ (1944). In this painting Kahlo portrays herself as a complete full bodied woman while also reflecting her broken insides. She stands alone against a surreal barren fissured landscape that echoes the open wound in her torso. A broken stone column replaces her damaged spine and is protected by a white orthopaedic corset, while sharp nails pierce into her olive naked flesh. Frida is partially nude except for the corset and white bandages.
The illness and love both did not greet them easily but rather hard. Even their financial problems never easily got solved through alcohol and drugs. However, they kept their passion for the artists who tried to express their freedom and share their life through drawing. Even though they lived miserably, they knew how to love and deal with the outer world. Van Gogh and Modigliani 's ability to transform their flaws and pain into art indicates that even though they had failures and illnesses which blocked their dream, they actually acted upon as strong independent men who faced each of their pain through paintings.

Artwork is all around the world, but is it really worth the resources and time for it? In the essay “Is Art a Waste of Time?” by Ryhs Southan he discusses the purpose of art and explains the group, Effective Altruism. The main argument is that Effective Altruism do not agree with using resources and time on artwork. Effective Altruism is against artwork the resources, and time it uses up that do not contribute to the poor.
Artwork is a form of self-expression from an artist based on life experience, or on something that the artist feels strongly about (Berenson, 87). The product of art can help others with similar experiences but not able to express the same feeling themselves. From the product of art, people can start drawing excitement, purpose as well as encouragement about the real thing being expressed. Through a piece of art, the artist can communicate a purpose, an emotion or an idea in their work. In this research paper, I compare two pieces of artwork; Madonna and child with the saints by Giovanni Bellini and Madonna and child with the two angels done by Fra Filippo Lippi.
