Magic School Bus Research Paper

Matter is a substance that has the two components of taking up space and has a mass. The mass of matter is composed of atoms. Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus is going to “hyper-shrink” and turn into a proton, then is going to take the Chemistry students to the nucleus of a Fluorine atom. While on this adventure, the Magic School Bus is going to encounter the outside region of the atom which is called the electron cloud and is going to contain miniature electrons that have a negative charge. Once through, the Magic School Bus will end up in the inside region of the nucleus which is made of positively charged protons, and neutrally charged neutrons. The Magic School on its adventure will affect the Fluorine atom by making the bus avoid …show more content…

According to the “Atomic Forces” and the “Intro to Forces” activities done in chemistry class. The electromagnetic force is the attraction or repulsion between same charged particles, yet the interactions between charged subatomic particles (protons, electrons, neutrons) that sometimes follow the principles of EMF (opposites attract, likes to repel) in an atom. The electromagnetic force will leave the proton Magic School Bus alone because the electrons are always moving at a fast rate that even if the electromagnetic force didn’t exist, the electrons would not attract and follow the EMF rules. Even though the electrons are 1/2000th the size of the protons and neutrons, the subatomic particle is negative charge larger proton of the bus would have enough charge to attract the proton to the tiny neutron to follow the EMF principles. When the Magic School Bus reaches the electron cloud, the negative electrons and positive protons do not attract to another and instead create a gap between them to give the atom empty space. This can also occur as the Magic School proton enters the electron cloud because when violating the Electromagnetic force helps structure the atom by giving the atom mostly empty space because the negative electrons and the positive protons are not stuck together and instead have a gap between them to give the atom empty space. Protons in the center of the nucleus are tightly packed to it gives extra room in the electron cloud for the
