Critical Thinking Answer The two recognition and reward programs that I would like to participate are Employee attendance and employee empowerment. Based on an employee attendance reward, it makes the company feels s/he cares about his or her job. Also it helps the employee protect his or her job. However, the employee empowerment makes the employee feels s/he has been trusted by the organization.

The author, in this case, tries to communicate that it is not possible to have a conversation about analysis or rather critical analysis with the majority students without having to incorporate aspects of their cultural expectations. I agree with the writer in the sense that critical thinking has active components and as such, it is important to establish the cultural expectations for better understanding. The author rightly points out that critical analysis is not merely a writing technique, but it involves many cultural undertones. It implies a relationship, a tone, and texts that are learned both consciously and unconsciously. It is a particularly complicated for someone brought up in a different cultural setting to understand the tone, and style of critical analysis that is found conventional.
In this chapter, John Bean suggest that beginning students think of writing as a separate skill when actually it is an integrate part of the critical thinking process. When I think of what Bean is saying, I can hear classmates saying, “I will just BS this assignment. ” Students tend to think that as long as they can write a decent paper then the content nor the process are very important. I like how Bean makes the writing element such a crucial part of learning so that one is not successfully achieved with the other.

Kasey Satterly PSY 200 Module 2, Critical Thinking #1 Throughout popular media there are many reports of medical trials, experiments and/or research projects with their results. It may be easy for us as a society to just take what is said as the truth, when in actuality, it is our responsibility to look at these reports with a critical eye. Some of the reports we read or hear about are just half-truths or are not proven. We have to make sure that the information given in these media outlets are creditable. One thing that is often in the researched and then brought to media is experiments or trials in addiction studies, which happens to be my major.

After taking a week-long break from concentrating on my paper, reflecting on it revealed different aspects of my argument. First, one strength of my paper is my perspective. Although I am biased in assuming that the core requirements are beneficial, I support this claim with evidence. I do this through my credibility statement, "During the beginning of my freshman year, the abundance of core annoyed me; however, learning the intentions behind the stipulations led me to acceptance and understanding." In the world in which we live, critical thinking is an invaluable skill that helps people to make informed decisions and discriminate truth from fiction. One of the ways I developed this skill in Seminar was by evaluating and synthesizing evidence in order to draw conclusions consistent with the text. In particular, the textual analysis paper I wrote pushed me to expand my critical thinking skills. I analyzed the themes present in the text What You Pawn I Will Redeem by Sherman Alexie and thought about the points the author was trying to make. Some of the themes, like racial issues between whites and natives, and drug abuse, were explicit in the text.
One of the biggest influences that shapes human thinking is the news. According to Dr. Gerald Nosich, an academic in critical thinking and author of the book, Learning to Think Things Through: a guide to critical thinking across the curriculum, news directly and indirectly acts as an impediment to our critical thinking. Nosich proclaims that while the news can directly influence thinking if it is perceived firsthand, news indirectly influences everyone because news is embedded in everyday conversation. King has provided his opinion about education is building character. Dr. King uses his words to create an audience awareness to think for yourself isn’t the same as you may call it critical thinking. 1. Philosophical analysis is an essential tool for the improvement of our critical thinking skills. The world have introduced to us different ideas about life, death and the existence of God, and thinking about these concepts could sometimes be really confusing. The only effective way to analyze these kinds of concepts is through critical thinking, breaking down the broad and big questions into smaller and more specific questions to understand them better.

Some topics that will be discussed in this paper will be how an individual can apply the top three critical thinking skills at work, school, and throughout everyday life. Likewise, the other items that will be clarified is the meaning of each of these critical thinking skills. The top three critical thinking skills are to analyze, synthesize, and to evaluate. These skills are a central facet of everyday life and to know how to properly use them will help in the long run. Each of these skills build off each other and it would be good to know what these skills mean in their entirety.
