The Maltese Falcon - Is It A Classic? Classic literature is the "meat" of ones general knowledge. Plenty of valuable insights are illuminated about the world that we live in that greatly impacts how a person lives their life. A brilliant example of this is Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon. It is one of the most haunting classics of all time because it can create and build suspense, it can be related to the lives of the general population, and it has the ability to change the reader.
Depression in The Scarlet Ibis Many people wouldn’t think that it’s possible to make a story about two young brothers depressing, but “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst shows that it is in fact possible. “The Scarlet Ibis” is a tale of two brothers, named William Armstrong, nicknamed Doodle, who was born disabled, and the narrator who doesn’t have a name. The tale follows the brothers through the adventures and hardships of their childhood that they got to experience together. In “The Scarlet Ibis,” author James Hurst uses Character actions, POV, and foreshadowing to enhance the story's depressing mood.
The Compound The theme of the Compound is cooperation. One time working together is important was when Eli and his family had to survive in the compound for 15 years thanks to the dad. Another evidence that working together is important is when Eli and the older sister tries to escape the compound. The last reason why working together is important is getting along with his sisters and brother. This is an example of how they have to work together because Eli used to only hang around his brother Eddie.
A classic has to be a book that is known by many and well written, many other things define a classic. The novel the Jungle is worthy of being on the AP list for several reasons. It consists of many other qualities that make it eligible to be a classic. Some of which include the fact of how well it was written and even how the author portrayed the story-line of the book. Also the fact that this book has been passed on from generation to generation and is still read today makes it a classic and an excellent choice to put on the AP list.

"We Are Young" by Fun correlates well with the themes and motifs of The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. "We Are Young" speaks to the idea of youth rebelling against the limits and expectations of society, a central theme of The Outsiders. The lyrics "Tonight, we are young / So let’s set the world on fire / We can burn brighter than the sun" channels the youthful energy and desire for freedom that many of the characters in The Outsiders feel.
In the following section of the paper, I will use the fantasy theme analysis, including its assumptions, and symbolic convergence theory in order to understand my artifact. The fantasy theme criticism was designed by Ernest G. Bormann "to look at how a group dramatizes an event or how a dramatization creates a special kind of myth that influences a group's thinking and behavior"(Rhetorical Criticism, fantasy theme criticism, p 167). The fantasy theme criticism relies on two assumptions: one is that reality is created through communication and the second one is that a convergence occurs by individuals' interpretation of symbols which create a shared reality for other people involved in a group or a team. It usually happens when in a social
So I think that many of the youth here will be able to mature if they grow up with a classic. At first they may read it and not fully grasp it and understand it. But as they mature they will maybe understand it more. Maybe visit the book again and again to see if they could fully grasp it, or learn more about it. What I’m
Since the text doesn’t establish anything within the person, it doesn’t make the person think, therefore it is not a classic at least in their
