In “How Energy Drinks Companies Prey on Male Insecurities,” Rachel Giese (2015) is arguing about how energy drinks companies use their marketing strategies to take advantage of young males who are attached to traditional muscling standard. Giese is an award winning author and editor. She wrote books and published papers about politics, pop culture and feminism, but she did not have previous experience with writing about energy drinks and marketing techniques. That indicates that she is not qualified to write about such topics, however, what makes Giese a qualified author to write this article is that she has previous experience with writing about male insecurities and what supports that is the book that she is currently working on. However, the authors used some logical fallacies and did not cite some statistics and facts used in the article which somehow weakened the article’s effectiveness. Personally, I think that giving more attention for the opposing argument would have enhanced their argument and make their article more credible. Since the article is written in 2015 the information is new and updated, I would use it as a source for a research paper concerning this topic as it is informative and convincing, despite the errors mentioned earlier. Furthermore, the article’s topic is very important and the movement that the authors are arguing about is spreading all over the world, not just in the United States of America. All in all, the authors present a sound, convincing argument though their article is lacking credible sources and
