1) Q: Beah moves around in time as he tells his story, flashing forward and backward. What is the effect of this technique of the overall meaning of the text? Would it be more effective if he stuck to strict chronology? Why or why not?
The stomata are the most critical piece to this process, as this is where CO2 enters and can be stored, and where water and O2 exit. Cellular respiration also known as oxidative metabolism is important to convert biochemical energy from nutrients in the cells of living organisms to useful energy known as adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Without cellular respiration living organisms would not be able to sustain life. This process is done by cells exchanging gases within its surroundings to create adenosine triphosphate commonly known as ADT, which is used by the cells as a source of energy. This process is done through numerous reactions; an example is metabolic pathway.
Synthesis #2 Draft #1 The poems “Songs of Experience: The Chimney Sweeper” and “Hymn to the Intellectual Beauty” written by William Blake and Percy Bysshe Shelley touch on the topic of religion and the lack of importance of this faith in people’s lives. Religion does not bring truth and meaning to life as it is perceived to doreword this . There are topics of greater importance in one’s life, faith is not only put in God and his teachings but a much greater power. Blake followed the religious teachings of Christianity growing up, and still expressed religion as not being the most important belief in his life, ironic for a man of strong beliefs for his religion.
1. Give an outline of the views on English spelling presented in texts 1 and 2. The two different texts mention, and are all based on the way our spelling has developed with our technology. According to Anne Trubecks “Proper Spelling?
One hundred and eighty days per year. Five days per week. Fifty minutes per day. This is the amount of time an English teacher has to educate their students in one school year alone. In this short period, English teachers should be allowed to teach the curriculum they see fit for their students.
My school would greatly benefit from the application of an honor code as long as such a code is approved by the student body. Such an honor code would bring about students to reconsider their actions before cheating on a test. This is because an honor code has the ability to create a culture among students which discourages cheating. Also, including harsh punishments within the honor code would dishearten students from cheating out of fear of potential consequences. Schools which have not benefited from honor codes are very different from Classical, and therefore do not prove that an honor code would be ineffective at Classical.
Growing up in a Christian household has nurtured my walk with God throughout my life. Since a young age, I have known God as my personal savior, but my faith and trust in Him have grown over the past several years. This past summer, I took part in a worship leader internship program at our church, which provided me with the opportunity to plan and lead worship services. Participating in this program helped me grow closer to God, but it also taught me how to be a leader rather than a follower. As God continues revealing His plan for my life, I feel called to attend Verity and to pursue my passion with a career in law enforcement.
The California Common Core Standard I chose was Reading Standards for Foundational Skills K-5 on pages 17 and 18. I specifically chose first grade students. This grade level is appropriate for my teaching area when I begin to student teach and for the classroom I currently work in. First grade students should be able to identify the key components of a sentence (the first word, capitialization and ending punctuation) on a piece of paper. Phonological awareness is important for students to learn early on.

The Honor Code Synthesis Essay Student dishonesty is a prevalent issue in many highschools, colleges and universities in today's day and age. Cheating on tests, plagiarism and handing in unoriginal work are all forms of cheating that many students use to give them an easier and more pleasant journey throughout school. However, many schools view this as a large issue, cheating and dishonesty are concepts schools stand firmly against and want none of it in their respective schools. This creates a problem, schools want students to behave a certain way and students are behaving contrary to that.
Space exploration has been considered monumental in the history of America. It brings upon an excitement in Americans, like a new invention that will improve all aspects of life. The great unknown, space that is, has also brought forward many complications. Space exploration opened up a world of vast knowledge, but the financial issues and safety of our citizens should be put into consideration first. Our nation's depth is at a national high of almost twenty trillion dollars, with no indication that it will slack up anytime soon.
Ever since grade school, I was passionate about working in the field of medicine, and science. I enjoyed anatomy, medical spelling and terminology, and reading about the healthcare industry. Cellular Respiration One of the main essentials of life that all organisms need in order to function in our world is, energy. We receive that energy from the food that we eat. Cellular respiration is the most efficient way for a cell to receive the energy stored in food. In cellular respiration, a catabolic pathway, which breaks down the molecules into smaller units, in order to produce adenosine triphosphate, also known as, ATP. ATP, is used by cells in the act of regular cellular operations, it is a “high energy” molecule.
There have been arguments on whether college writing should be a mandatory class for college students. Better grammar and better communication skills are just a few reasons why college writing is an important class for students and should be made mandatory across the United States of America. In society today many people don’t see the bigger picture and they settle for “good”, but they shouldn’t only focus on how good something is but how it can be improved and made better. I believe that practicing writing forces you to always try to improve and that could potentially help our country economy and help us grow intellectually. Some student argue that college writing is very similar to high school writing and that’s why they think it is unnecessary to take a writing class in college.
