Starling (2011) explains, the crucial point of a leadership style is decided by a mangers effectiveness on whether it is used in an appropriate manner for their situation (p.345). Furthermore, Starling (2011) specifically points out, mangers must assess the culture or climate of their organization to know the leadership style needed to be put into place (p.345). Starling (2011) continues to note, there are four basic leadership styles presented in the workplace in which the leader uses in order to achieve goals (p.345). Beginning with supporting or human relations style, this manger has little task orientation and excels in relationship orientation (Starling, 2011, p.345).
