The bomb that killed thousands of innocent lives which will determine the outcome of the war. On August 6, 1945, during World War II , an American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first ever atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 civilians; thousands of more would later die due to radiation poisoning. A few days later, a second B-29 dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 civilians. The amount of casualties totaled over 150,000 civilians. Japan emperor later surrendered to the United States after what had happen to both of its cities and its people that were caught in the blast. If the United States were to prolong the war it would have cause many more of the United States military casualties to go up higher and would have cost a lot more to fund. And with a weapon that can end the war instantly President Truman had to make a decision. Given that there has already been so many casualties from world war II it will only mean more death toll will be on the rise and many good men will be laying down their lives if it can be easily ended. Another reason why president Truman decided to go ahead with the plan and bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki was because it will save a lot of money given that the United States spent most of its money to fund World War II. Also it was also a matter of public opinion because if the people of the United States were to find out there was a weapon like this all along and was never used there will be a lot of angry people. So that's why the United States decided to go along with the plan and the bomb Japan.
