The author then switches to earlier that day when Yolanda was on her way to the house without any indication of time change. Overall the book was written poorly and it came across as confusing. I would not recommend this book to other people.
From the beginning to the end of this story, we can see the change in Matilda, the main character. By using foreshadowing and visualization, Laurie Halse Anderson was able to craft a storyline that shows the change in the main character and impacts its readers.
“With my feet still bound, I lunge for him, just as flame bursts from the barrel.” In the book, Liars Inc. by Paula Stokes, the main character, Max Cantrell, begins a company called Liars, Inc. with his best friend, Preston, and his girlfriend, Parvati. One event leads to another, and Preston goes missing. Max has to figure out what happened to Preston without getting in trouble with the police. Max lied to the police about Preston’s location, he lied about dating Parvati, and Preston lied about who he was his whole life.
”(Stone 110). This scene is so crucial in this story because if this scene were not to happen, than the other possible theme would make sense. However, since that is not how the book goes readers can truly believe that there is no boundaries in a relationship. Another scene that helps readers understand why the other possible theme is not as good as the other is the scene when Bennett brings Anna to his real bedroom in San Francisco 2012. Since Anna is from 1995 and that is where she should be in this scene, Bennett brings her to the future, his time period.
