In the short story “marbles champs" by Gary Soto. Lupe is the main character. She wants to be good at sports and what sport she will try. This short story tells the tale of a young girl named Lupe Medrano and her inspiring journey of determination and effort. Lupe is an inspiring character because she is determined, considerate, and smart. First Lupe is inspiring because she is determined. Lupe realized she was really bad at sports and had an idea of playing marbles which is a sport that gives her the courage to practice.
