Individuals in the United States understood that their society established inequality as a norm and they recognized that organizing themselves was an approach to speak up against the system. Which is why famous, well-known leaders like Booker T. Washington knew that if they created expositions, they could attract anyone to hear and spread their ideas and solutions to what was transpiring in their communities. However, all communities did not gather together to fight the injustice order; organization manifested according to the individuals’ perspective. For instance, Marcus Garvey and W.E.B. For example, Du Bois experience the savagery in Atlanta which prompted him to change African Americans lives economically, politically, and socially. For Marcus Garvey, he organized “The Negro World” that created black-owned businesses so African Americans would not face racial prejudice, and instead created a “nation” within the United States where it was operated, owned, and only for African Americans. Inequality took various forms it wasn’t just in race it took part in gender. As a result, women organized themselves and established the Women’s Trade Union League (WTUL) to change the workplace’s treatment and entry. When women realized that organization was key to improving their standard of living and were successful at it, it incited them to take a step further which was establishing new movements like feminism. It was a powerful countermovement that opened new opportunities for women in status, relationships, and expectations. Although, people formed organizations to fight for the restrictions placed on them by society; challenges arose that counter their beliefs.
