Would you give your sick child marijuana if it meant making them healthier and happier? So many people who have issues with pain are starting to use marijuana as a pain medication and lots of people are speaking out about how this is working for them. A anonymous user with Scoliosis says that using marijuana as a painkiller has helped her so much more than using opioids and there are no other side effects and it did not make feel bad like a lot of other medications do (National Geographic: American Weeds). The reason why so many people are saying this is because opioids are very different from marijuana. Marijuana if used to get high has a very light mind alter compared to most drugs out there so a lot of people who want a bigger mind alter will try other things. But if you are just using marijuana as a medicine, it is very rare to start using other drugs because most people who use marijuana as a medication are not looking for a effect other than relief from their medical problems (Is Marijuana A Gateway Drug?). One of the other things that can be dangerous is edibles.(Marijuana Country: The Cannabis Boom) There are all sorts of types of edibles and most of them are in candy form. Anything from chocolate to lollipops. edibles are very different from smoking marijuana because it is not fast acting. They can actually take up to four hours to start taking effect on the body.
