She was ¨the blonde¨. The star. The beauty. The model. She was Marilyn Monroe. During the 1950s, Monroe was the biggest “sex symbols” to ever exist. Even 55 years after her death, she is still loved and used by millions as a role model. Marilyn had many roles, a movie star, a singer, role model but her most known role was being the biggest “sex symbols” to this day, but those are not the reasons I picked her to be on the Most Influential Americans list. I picked her because she was a great role model for women, yes not everyone agreed with what she did, some opposed her role, leaving some angry fans, but she helped show women how to love themselves no matter whether they’re black, white, hispanic, tall, short, skinny, shy or outgoing. Even though she was the first playboy bunny, she became a powerful women role. Letting women know that you should not be ashamed of your body or the life you come from. Making women feel like they can be and do whatever they want. She showed women that your past does not define you and that just because you have had a rough start or even an easy start it is no reason to not love yourself( ).
Marilyn stood up for what was right. She never let anyone walk over her. Which showed women and younger girls that just because you’re a women doesn’t mean people can just use you. Marilyn was known for her beauty and her body but she didn’t always doll herself up, sometimes she dressed down, this also showed that she was comfortable with how she looked.
