I am writing to express my interest in the Marketing Analyst Summer Undergrad Program position posted on the ArchelorMittal website. I am a second-year student who is currently enrolled in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program at McMaster University. I desire to focus on product development and market analysis, and I believe my array of experiences and skills suit the qualifications needed to excel in the position.
I noticed that the qualifications highlight analyzing customer needs. Over the past year, I have become more involved within the McMaster community by taking on leadership roles in two large student organizations. As the marketing executive of McMaster GEEKS, I led the organization through a rebranding process that involved expanding the club’s social media outreach and creating new events to suit the diverse tastes of club members. During the expansion, I worked with other executives within the club to coordinate ideas. I also refined my writing and marketing skills by tailoring social media advertisements to reach out to our desired audiences. Taking part in another organization, McMaster Extra Life, allowed me to form connections with school faculty while being able to volunteer with McMaster Children’s Hospital. My active participation within my university’s environment has taught me both the importance of teamwork and independence within a workplace. Although both ideas initially appear to clash, one cannot efficiently exist without the other. My decision to devote my free-time to teamwork required an independent decision to participate within teams, and I feel empowered as an individual by participating within those
