The date is August 28th, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. delivers his “I Have a Dream” speech during the March on Washington; calling for an end to racism and a beginning equal rights. Martin Luther King Jr. is a hero to many African Americans, as he speaks for those who were suffering and too fearful to speak up. He fought for what he thought was right, and followed a single goal: equality. MLK Jr. was the one to make a move, take a stand, and become a hero simply just by making a difference. Martin Luther King Jr. was faced with many dangerous situations. During the 50’s and 60’s, MLK led the Civil Rights movement during many nonviolent and peaceful protests. However, the Police did not take very lightly to this, and responded with violence.
