Mary Wollstoncraft was one of the most sensational writers in the 18th century. Not only did she advocate for the right of women, as we will speak about more into detail as we talk about her work Vindication of The Rights of Women, but an author who wanted to bring equality to a society that was out of balance. She was a woman, who unlike any other, did not want to stay quiet and wanted to be heard leading her to write her famous book The Vindication of The Rights of Women. This book made Wollstoncraft a celebrity to all women and a voice for them. In her book she writes about how she is taken aback on how women are treated and she brings up quotes from up leveled people to emphasize how close minded society was when it came to women rights. She explains how education is key and how much it lacks in women. She did not want to be taught how to cook and clean and knit. She wanted to be taught how to get a good job and how t5o prosper in life. She did not want to be looked down upon and fell less of what she was. The reason for her work was to open the eyes of women and to tell them that it’s okay to want more or to want equality and that living in the shadows of men are not a potion that women should be placed in. She felt that if women were the ones to carry the offspring of a man that she should be allowed to vote. She felt that if she had to care for a whole family she could pursue a career as well to care for the family financially as well. These thoughts and ideas obviously brought consequences. It is known that Wollstencraft also got a lot of back slash for writing this book. Nursing and teaching jobs were starting to be taken by women as schools were starting to offer their classes to women and soon many other jobs were offered. Acting careers and more government jobs were starting to get occupied by women and not only occupied but some of these jobs also made these women leaders of groups of men. Women were finally beginning to start getting treated the same. Not everything was abolished in social standing though. As women were still expected to take care of the family and care for their husbands ds in anything they needed. A lot of women were beginning to face stress, but that’s not what Wollstoncraft wanted. She came up with ways to help women destress. She gave women a voice which gave them jobs which gave them money. They used they money to higher nannies and caretakers that were usually women too which meant that these women who hired theses care takers were basically giving jobs to other women helping them progress and tend to their families. It was sort of a double win
