Although there is a chance for the growth of maturity,the boys stranded on the island with no parental guidance the boys need standards to keep them from hurting themselves,others, and to control their behavior so they won’t be affected by the situation that they are in.
In the novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding, protagonist Ralph and a group of schoolboys are stuck on an island in the Pacific.This is a place where there were no adults,no school,no bedtime, and no order. Ralph and the others try to mimic the social structure that would reflect that of the “adult world”.
