A sincere apology, followed by immediate action to rectify the issue, has helped diffuse past problems and build back the trust and loyalty of their customers. In addition, the company will send extra product to any affected customers to make up for the inconvenience. This strategy has built credibility, proven the importance of social media interaction, and shown how swiftly word can spread on the internet after a problem arises.
