In these days, media is a big part in peoples lives and some may say it consumes people into their phones, televisions and radios. However, these forms of media can get the word around about a serious issue that needs attention. This was true especially during World War II and the Civil Rights Movement. Though media can be distracting at times it can help get people to stand up and help solve problems.

To begin with, their are many different texts that support the fact that media can help people stand up and help with conflicts. Two of which are "In Defense of the Media" and "How the Media Helped Win World War II". Both of these sources help explain how media helped people help the country during World War II and the Civil Rights Movement. During this time, the American Civil Rights Movement was at its peak" and "Everyone was watching, and Americans began realizing what was going on in their country. Many people were outraged by the violence they saw, which led them to take action and seek unity" This shows that because most people in the US had televisions, they got to see everything that was happening during this time.
