I was talking to her and all she wanted to do was talk about herself. By ignoring me and only talking about herself Gina and not caring about anything but herself Gina was being self centered.

The novel “Ella Minnow Pea” written by Mark Dunn, describes the tragic story of Nollop Island. Mr. Nevin Nollop – the man for whom this Island named. At the center of Nollop Island is pedestal upon which his sculpture and words: "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog"(2). He invented the sentence which obtaining all the letters of the alphabet. All its inhabitants live by the rules established by the five-man council.
The title of this short essay is “ In Praise of the Threat”, and the author is Rebecca Solnit. Haymarket Books published this short essay in 2014. The main point that Solnit was making throughout the reading was that we should all have the same rights no matter what. She goes on to say that same sex marriages don’t get the same equality and normal one man and one woman get. Solnit also explains how women had not rights and basically when women got married their husbands where the ones who told them what to do.

In the novel “Hate List”, Valerie Leftman is to return to school five months after her boyfriend, Nick shot several fellow classmates in the school cafeteria. Most of the people shot were on a list Valerie and Nick made and called the hate list. A majority of the school community believes that Valerie was aware of Nick’s plan to kill the kids (she wasn’t aware) despite the fact that Valerie saved someone’s life and got shot in the process. In “Hate List”, Valerie and everyone around her must pick up the broken pieces of fear and sadness after the tragedy. This creates a story that is both universal and so unique that it will leave the reader changed on a fundamental level.

In the book To Kill A Mockingbird written by Harper Lee, the main character Scout and her brother Jem live in a town called Maycomb. The town of Maycomb is a small neighborhood where everybody knows everybody. But every town has its peculiarities. Down the street from Scout and her family, there is another family known as the Radley’s.

“The lady, or the tiger?” by Frank R. Stockton is a head scratching story. The story takes place in the medieval times. There is a king who ruled a kingdom, he had some “different” laws. Anyone that has committed a crime shall go to an arena on an appointed day to be trialed. Whenever the accused has entered the arena they will choose between 2 doors that will decide their fate, guilty or innocent.
Oscar wild wrote this quote. This remark by Lady Bracknell is a pun or a play on words. The first part of her sentence is a normal comment on the death of one of Mr. Worthing 's parents but Lady Bracknell gives the word "lose" a different meaning in the second part. By making Lady Bracknell say this, Oscar Wilde presumably wished to show how snobbish the upper class could be. It is usual in England to say "I have lost my father, friend, or relative."
I know that in life anything worth having isn't easy to attain so i am more than willing to work hard and push myself to get where i need to and want to be. I wanna see myself in a whole new light, i wanna look in the mirror and be proud of the person that i see. I wanna wake up everyday feeling accomplished. First off, I am humbled to be considered for membership of the National Honor Society. In my opinion on the foundation of the four pillars of NHS the FPC NHS chapter will benefit from my membership because I will bring intellect, drive, leadership, character, dedication to serve my community, honesty, respect, pride, discipline, compassion and among many other qualities a sense of humor. As an active member of my school and community I work hard to serve not just myself but those around me. I am an active volunteer throughout Flagler County as previously stated. I am a teenage volunteer at the Florida Hospital Flagler.
It's ironic that in a year that many believe has been one of the worst, I have had one of the best. The world may have gone to shit but amidst all of the insanity, I achieved several life goals. 2016 started slowly and didn't really pick up until May. That's when I graduated from Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies with a Master's in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. First life goal achieved.
