Men Outside Of The Cave

In Plato's philosophy, he states that the people in the caves were imprisoned. The men in the cave were chained up in the cave all their lives, starring at a wall to only see the shadows of people on the outside of the cave. They could only think and imagine what was on the outside of the cave. The men in the cave thought their lives were normal and perfect, they wouldn't change their lifestyle for nothing. The men outside of the cave believed their lives were rough, but not like the men in the cave.

The truth behind this is that they can believe or imagine something perfect, but in reality, you cannot get it because it is so perfect in your mind. Plato thinks that in your mind you can think of the perfect candy bar, but in reality, you cannot get the

We do not like getting lectured to in classes all day, it gets annoying. Just sitting there and dealing with overheard voices though out the classroom talking about drama or arguments. Adults in our era feel imprisoned having to go to work for seven to eight hour shifts. Having to get told what to do from your boss, or maybe even stuck in the office filing paperwork is like being imprisoned.

We do not feel imprisoned when we do what we want, not having to be told what to do. Hanging out with friends or doing something you like to do is not feeling imprisoned. Parents like to stay home and relax and hang out with the family instead of work. We like family time together, not imprisoned time apart.

The difference between Plato’s cave life versus our era life is our perspective in life than their perspective. The men in the cave felt imprisoned, but they believe that was how their life was supposed to be. Just watching the shadows on the wall in the cave trying to figure out what it was like outside of the cave. They didn’t want to be chained up and they didn’t want to be outside the
