And I think that is because a lot of us in this time period are very stressed out. We have a lot more new responsibility to face and it can cause us to be stressed. Since they were from a different generation, they may not understand a lot that teens go through. Everything is different from when they were growing up. Gen Z has more access to information on the internet, so they grow up faster. Social media places pressures on Gen Z that their parents never knew. School is even different. With the use and prevalence of technology, students have more expectations and a higher level of work to achieve. If parents don’t understand these struggles, it will be hard for them to help. That will only add to the child’s feeling of hopelessness. They want to feel like their parents can fix things, and parents want to feel like they can fix things for their kids, too. One way the mental health community can help parents help their kids is by studying all of these mental health issues, specifically how they affect Gen Z. Many people in the world who suffer from mental illness struggle with social, emotional, and psychological problems. The main causes of Mental Health issues specifically in the Gen Z era are the effects of social media, toxic home environment, and school pressure.
