In my life growing up, I have always been curious about the meaning behind the word care, as watching my parents and older siblings offer care and support to family and others seemed to be rewarding, not only for them but for people in their care, this inspired me to ensure I take on further responsibilities in helping my to look after my younger siblings and others in need.
Studying the Health and Social Care level 4 certificates and level 5 foundation degree at university motivated me to study the mental health nurse course. I believe mental health nursing is not just about caring and supporting individuals who have a variety of mental health conditions, such as anxiety and personality disorders, but it involves helping to construct their confidence and develop trust with encouragement and building friendships alongside making patients happy, which all contributes to helping them to recover from any illness so that they can lead a positive healthier life. On the other hand, this experience allows me to interact with service users from various backgrounds and allows me to be more flexible and adaptable to changes in order to provide care that is meaningful and right for service users.
