As a victim of a school shooting, I worry about the kids in my school and who will do it again. My topic of making sure that kids mental health is adequate which will not put other students in danger. Students should be taking tests to check their mental health for the safety of schools. As some may think that these tests show false information and can prove nothing, the tests would take extra precautions and they would make sure students and families can send their kids off to schools without worry. Although some may believe that mental health tests can wrongly accuse students of savagery, districts should require the test to insure the safety of the school and students. As schools tests kids, results of the well being of students can prevent many situations along with bullying, uncooperative behavior, or even a shooting. Mental health tests can observe a student that may have a problem and help them with their daily life. Some might believe that students are getting falsely accused and can hide their emotions when tasking tests and show no signs of depression. When Mason Buhl was in our school, he showed no signs of depressions and didn't raise any red flags. He hid his feelings behind a emotionless face and waited for his day. This accusation of falsely accusing is inadequate because the tests are precise and can show sights of depression and anger. The day before our shooting, Mason was clearly furious and had shown signs of anger with our principal, which the administrators should have examined. Tests related to show signs of mental illnesses could have prevented Mason from making the life changing decision on September 30th, 2015.
