Meriwether Lewis was one of the leaders of the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was the governor of the Louisiana Territory. Lewis was one of Thomas Jefferson’s most trusted friends to get his money from the government and to deliver something to Thomas Jefferson. During the journey ,Jefferson stopped at Robert Grinder’s inn to rest while James Neely apparently went to look for the missing horses. There, Meriwether Lewis was murdered by a conspiracy. According to the Autopsy Report, Lewis was shot through the chest and the back of his head. There were 2 horse guns used. There were people who had motive to kill Lewis. Basing off of the video: Lewis’s Death Decoded, it could have been General Wilkinson out of jealousy, Aaron Burr, who was allies with Wilkinson and was released from the position of Vice President because of treason, Robert Grinder for money or James Neely, who was working under General Wilkinson.
