Meta-Cognition Journal: English Reflection This journal demonstrates five topics through five paragraphs that reflect on my literary experience throughout my study of literature in ENG 3U. The five topics that I am going to talk about are my English study’s, how I approach work that I get back, how I should improve my routine style, things I have to work on and the next step I am going to take to improve in English. Firstly, throughout my studies of English, I truly feel that I have improved on analyzing and annotating poems and short stories this year. In grade 10 English when I had to analysis and annotate poems or short stories, I did not exactly understand each literacy devices and how to apply it to a poem or short story to apprehend the piece of literature. Lastly, the next step I am going to take to improve in English is whenever I get an assignment back I want to go over it with the instructor to get more feedback on ways to improve on further assignments. For example, if the most struggle I am having is on sentence structure, I would ask for tips or worksheets that I can have so that I can improve and better my sentences. I feel that asking more questions for clarification will help me take that next step to improve through this course because if it is something little as making sure you are quoting properly; you would not lose marks on those little silly mistakes.
