Never putting herself at the center of attention, Baker’s main involvements in history include the establishment of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957, working as a director of branches for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and lastly, forming meetings for the people from the Greensboro sit-ins that transformed into the Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee (SNCC). Although unable to face any grave consequences, Bakers mainly impact on history was during the Civil Rights era from 1931-1986. Baker was against segregation at the time when there was racial discrimination of African Americans and minorities.
Carly Fiorina is an American Republican politician who is a running candidate for presidency in the 2016 United States Presidential election. She was born on September 6, 1954 in Austin, Texas. Her father was involved in the government and he served as a Deputy U.S. Attorney General and a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Fiorina attended many schools including Channing School in London which she attended when she was younger, and five high schools, Charles E. Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina being the one she graduated from. She attended college at Stanford where she received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and medieval history in 1976.
Brittany Lewis is the New Miss Black America Last August 26, 2017, Miss Black America 2016, Nicole Lyn Hibbert, crowned her successor and new winner of Miss Black America 2017, Brittany Lewis. Lewis graduated with a degree in broadcast, telecommunications, and mass media from the Temple University and took African-American studies. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority as well as the National Council of Negro Women while she was an undergrad.
