How can you help others and help yourself at the same time? Was the first question I asked myself when considering my topic for the senior project. It took some time but I finally came to a windup, and decided...why not Habitat for Humanity? Habitat is a nonprofit universal Christian ministry, that helps people who are in need build. Regardless of their race, religion, or surrounding you are welcome to join and volunteer.

In September of the same year Millard started thinking of ways to fulfill Jordan’s vision, so he hosted a brainstorm meeting, at Koinonia and met with a couple of close colleagues and created an organization called: Habitat for Humanity International! Just like the Fund for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity would solely be based off what Millard called “Biblical Economics”. In 1995 the Fuller couple founded yet another program called the “ Fuller Center for Housing”, but was not started until spring of 2005. Fuller center for Housing is an organization set out to help end poverty all over the world. Think Habitat for Humanity isn't a big deal? Well how about this: In the U.S. about 48.5 million people are living in poverty, and minimum wage can't keep up with the cost of healthy living. Habitat has helped 1 million families and counting, representing 5 million people, and more than 1,400 local U.S. affiliates. Why do we need Habitat for Humanity? Habitat provides stability, physical safety, security, health and sense of dignity: All by just having a stable house.
For example kids in Malawi that live in Habitat for Humanity houses have 44% less chance of getting a respiratory disease or malaria compared to the kids that live in traditional Malawi
