Abstract I am against the Mississippi flag. This is a national debate and its widely known across the nation. Mississippi is the only state that still has a confederate flag as their state flag. This is a responsibility that us as christians need to act upon. We need to realize how important this issue really is. The flag is a representation of slavery and racism, for our flag to represent racism in our country is a total disgrace to not only our country but also to people who live in the state. if our flag represents our state, what does our flag say about our state? This is a battle flag for the confederates who were fighting for their states right to keep slavery. South Carolina then replaced their confederate emblem. This left Mississippi as the only state that still hangs the racial emblem. Yes, we are the only state out of 50 that does not have their act together. Not to mention that 7 out of the 8 universities in Mississippi have chosen to stop flying the emblem.
