Heroes in Greek Mythology
Greek mythology consists of myths concerning the origin of the world as well as stories about their gods, heroes and monsters. It is divided into many sections that play a crucial role in this religion. Other than the obvious gods, Greek mythology explained in detail the positive role of the heroes and how they affected the outcome to the decisions of both gods and people. Heroes were a combination of a human and god, representing an approachable god in which humans aspire to. They listened to the gods and helped people on land, serving the same purpose as the apostles or saints in modern day religion. The most popular Heroes in myths include Hercules, Theseus and Achilles. They are all known for their courage, however Theseus was also admired for his wisdom and cleverness.
There are countless stories portraying the power of hero’s and their importance. Theseus and the Minotaur is an example where Theseus realizes that his people will continue to die under the rule of King Minos, so he convinces his father to journey into the labyrinth in order to defeat it, …show more content…

These actions can be addressed as possible lessons. Putting yourself in uncomfortable situations for the benefit of others is a very obvious lesson. He demonstrates through his will of going in the labyrinth stop his people from dying. This can be related to modern day situations in numerous ways. In modern day society it is similar to standing up for someone who is being bullied, protecting someone when racially discriminated against or even donating money. Another lesson we gain from this character and myth is that acting/thinking before situations are clear often leads to mistake. This lesson can help you teach to not judge other people in the way that you should understand them before drawing conclusions. Theseus’s decisions and personality create lessons that other people can learn to become better
